Nina's first advent calendar!!
Painting a plain wooden @hobbycrafthq advent castle in all these whimsical colours and filling it up with little bits, crafts and treats has brought me just as much joy as it did her discovering it this morning.

Is she even the daughter of a crocheter if she doesn't rock a bobble hat?
Mind you, the pattern is jittery as I've been making this at night while watching Breaking Bad, for the first time - I know 🙈.
Big thanks to @bellacococrochet's tutorial that saved me after I thought I can do a bobble stitch for the first time without instructions 😘
One of my favourite castles, moated (!) dinky little @scotneycastle_nt, two Sundays ago when it was still autumn.
At last we began our @nationaltrust membership, here's to coming back again and again to these wondrous places where time stands still and lets us be free and in love, here's to play and daydreams.
What a mesmerising light installation in the wetlands setting at @wwtlondon, if you're not quite ready for Christmas lights (I'm one of those I-cannot-think-of-Christmas-until-the-1st-of-December type people who then go all out obvs. to catch up), but want some magic in the evening. Nina did try to climb the swans, while Lucian and I walked around like a Prince and Princess in a fairytale and pretended she wasn't with us. They have lots of buttons for little ones to press and light up the animals, and that green interactive lillypad is pure magic.
Interrupting my holiday photo dump to brag about what I made while little Nina spends much needed time with her grandmother.
Pair of rolled brim hats for me and my babe - fashioned in the 60s, this was the female equivalent to the men's bowler hat.
Great pattern from Carla of Mouse&Thimble (on Etsy), where she calls it Barley Hat.
I adjusted the pattern as I used a fine Romanian cotton rich thread I picked up here, much thinner than the quick-to-stitch wool, but I'm well pleased with them even if they took much longer!
Done!! 💚💙 (<- until aqua heart is happening)
Cannot wait to wear this #grannygoroundcardigan in mint, with red pencils for buttons (obvs), once this hot spell is over. Of course it gives me enough time to make another kiddo version for Nina!
Thank you, brilliant @iron_lamb, for another splendid pattern. Such a satisfying make.
I've been rewatching House TV series, drinking cider and crocheting my way through autumn.
PS: got Thé à la menthe on repeat, that brilliant song and all the memories it brings.
Little sunflower loved the sun hat I crocheted her 💛
